COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is a great opportunity to broaden your scope as a trainer and fitness professional.

 

 

The Exercise for Young People course covers the unit SISFFIT013 Instruct exercise to young people aged 13 to 17, which is required within the fitness industry to train clients aged 13-17 years old.

Whether you are a personal trainer, gym instructor or group exercise instructor, you cannot work with people under the age of 18 unless you hold the children or adolescent’s fitness unit. With your statement of attainment, you can upgrade your registration to include the adolescent specialisation.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to motivate, educate and be a part of clients’ health and fitness journey.  


COURSE DELIVERY

Online work placement.

 

COURSE DURATION

This course is self-paced; however, you have a maximum duration of 6 months to complete the course.

 

COURSE OUTLINE

The Exercise for Young People course includes the following unit of competency: SISFFIT013

 

WORK PLACEMENT

Students are required to complete guided work placement during the course in order to complete assessment requirements. Work placement allows students to put their learning into practice, gain some industry experience and build confidence to ensure students are job ready at its completion.

Where possible, Force Training Acacemy will assist students to find a suitable work placement at a Fernwood Women’s Health Club.

 

PRE-REQUISITES

  • Students must hold a Certificate III and/or IV in Fitness

 

ADOLESCENT SPECIALISATION

Graduates of the Exercise for Young People course are able to add the adolescent instructor or trainer specialisation to their registration. This means that they are qualified to screen and evaluate, as well as design and deliver exercise programs to adolescents.
